The Story of accel-EQ
The story of accel-EQ starts in 2014 when Omar Fuentes’ (CEO and Co-Founder) father passed away after recovering from a major stroke while dealing with diabetes. His father did not receive the care he needed and passed away prematurely. In 2019 Omar and his family dealt the passing of his brother due to suicide. The years preceding his brother was unable to gain the appropriate access he needed to mental health. Additionally, In 2021 Omar’s wife, after three long years of health issues, seeing over a dozen different physicians, and receiving no answers, she was finally diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Combined with Omar’s skill set and experience within healthcare this fueled the determination and resolve of the company to change the landscape of how healthcare is delivered. Driven by these unnecessary events Omar assembled a union of equally motivated stakeholders to create a solution and improve the medical landscape.
